Is past due child support of spousal support dischargeable in bankruptcy?

As a general rule past due "domestic support obligations" are NOT subject to discharge in a bankruptcy. However, if it can be determined that all or some portion of a spousal support obligation is really only payment of a property settlement agreement rather than actual support, that portion may be discharged in a bankruptcy.
